Have you ever said "I love hanging up curtains. It's so easy and quick!"? I bet your answer to that would be big fat no, and in fact, I'm sure your thoughts on this are the opposite. Hanging curtains is royal pain in the you know what. It requires multiple tools such as a drill, hammer, tape measure, level and more. It also damages your walls, and you usually need someone to help, or you simply decide to spend ridiculous money to have a professional come to your home and install them for you.
Being a very handy person myself, and someone who is not afraid to tackle any home improvement project, I'm right there with you on hanging curtains. It stinks...but back in 2022 when I was finishing up the renovation of my 1894 colonial revival home, I was determined to find a way to make hanging curtains easier and without damaging the walls.
One day, I was standing in my newly wallpapered dining room, thinking about what to do for window treatments, and I was stumped. I had just installed a beautiful hand printed wallpaper by Adelphi Paper Hangings, and I did not want to damage it. Well, being an engineer turned interior designer, I decided to hop onto my 3D modeling program to see if I could model a bracket that could hold up my curtain rods, in the correct position, without putting a single hole in the wall.
After a couple of weeks, I felt like I came up with a great design that would not only solve my problem, but help make the task of hanging curtains so much easier and better than the options today. After having a 3D printed model made of my invention, I showed it to family and friends, and the response was mind blowing. Everyone said it was an amazing idea and that they can't wait to buy them! With that feedback, I immediately applied for a patent and began my search for manufacturing solutions.
Fast forward a year, after many samples and trials of the bracket, package development and everything else that comes with launching a new product, I launched the LEVELette on February 14, 2025.
I truly hope this product helps to make the task of hanging curtains less stressful and lot easier, and that it help make your windows and home more beautiful to you.
